Responsibilities: Dickens joined Boyle in the spring of 2003 to assist the company’s land development group with special projects.
Professional Record: Dickens’ accomplishments are extensive, as he has more than 35 years of experience in real estate development. From 1969 to 1979, Dickens was employed by Joyner, Heard & Jones as a mortgage banker. During this period he developed subdivisions throughout Germantown, including 1,000 lots while working as an officer for this firm and in some cases, in partnership with the firm’s principals. From 1980 to the present time, he has worked on his own or with various partners to develop more than 30 high-profile developments throughout the Memphis area, from the river, midtown, East Memphis, Germantown, and Collierville to points beyond in east Shelby County. An expert in residential in-fill real estate, Dickens developed the first private planned development in Memphis, Pidgeon Hall, and the first zero-lot line development with attached units, Windover Grove. Dickens has also been involved in office and retail development and has structured the ownership of various projects to include co-op, condo and private fee simple. While at Boyle, Dickens has been involved in the development of Wickliffe, Twin Lakes of Piperton, Spring Creek Ranch, Washington Gates, The Twinings in Collierville and the Pinnacle of Germantown.
Education: Dickens received a B.B.A. from Memphis State University in 1966 and holds an affiliate brokers license.
Honors and Awards: Dickens has been featured in national and regional publications, including Southern Living and Builder Magazine, where he was cited as an expert in infill development.
