Riding in large degree on the successive waves of expansion at Baptist Memorial Hospital on Walnut grove, the developers of Humphreys Center have helped place an unmistakable medical office footprint upon that section of East Memphis.

While construction on their new East Memphis headquarters continues, Opera Memphis officials say they are nearing their fund-raising goal of $7.3 million to pay for the project.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, October 15, 1998 -- Boyle’s new 50,000-square-foot corporate office building at 6305 Humphreys Boulevard is open for business. Initial occupancy of the new building in Humphreys Center will begin in late October when the 25 employees of Data Communications Corporation will move into the company’s new 10,000-square-foot space.

Two new office buildings at Humphreys Center offer some of the most attractive and conveniently located office space in East Memphis. Construction began in September 1997 on Boyle's new 50,000-square-foot corporate office building at 6305 Humphreys Boulevard, and initial occupancy began this fall. Data Communications Corporation, a provider of computer services to the millwork industry, moved its 25 employees into its 10,000-square-foot space in October.

Land development work is under way on about 17 acres on the north side of Walnut Grove in Humphreys Center near Christian Brothers High School. Humphreys Boulevard will be extended about 500 feet from its present terminus on the north side of Walnut Grove to serve the 17 acres, the final portion of that development, said Russell ‘Rusty’ Bloodworth, Jr., executive vice president of Boyle Investment Co., principal developer of Humphreys Center, has zoning for multiple uses there, Bloodworth said. "We expect to sell the sites, rather than develop it."

Construction has started on a two story office building at 6305 Humphreys Blvd. in the Humphreys Center commercial development.

Humphreys Center, Boyle’s 300-acre mixed-use development at Humphreys Boulevard and Walnut Grove Road in East Memphis, recently received the 1994 Excellence in Real Estate Project Award by the Memphis Chapter of Lambda Alpha.
