Circa Slated for Regalia Space

Circa by John Bragg restaurant plans to open its East Memphis location at Regalia shopping center, Boyle Investment Co. recently announced.
John Bragg, chef and owner of Circa, has signed a lease for a 3,600-square-foot space at Boyle’s Regalia shopping center in East Memphis at Poplar Avenue and South Shady Grove Road.
This will be Bragg’s second location for Circa, a gourmet restaurant featuring contemporary regional American cuisine executed with classic French techniques.
The new restaurant, filling the space formerly occupied by Mikasa, comes equipped with a mezzanine level and small room upstairs for wine tastings and other events.
Bradley Wilford, vice president of Boyle and head of leasing at Regalia, said the shopping center caters to the high-end demographic of the East Memphis area, making the center a perfect match with Circa.
“Having a nice restaurant should be helpful to the folks living in the area who might not be going Downtown for the evening,” said Wilford. “Regalia also is located near numerous ‘Class A’ office buildings, so Circa should lure plenty of those office tenants, as well.”
Also, Mango Street Baby, specializing in bedding, furniture, gifts, and luxury items for newborns, has signed a lease and recently opened at Regalia. Wilford was the leasing agent for the 1,400-square-foot space.
Boyle has made more than $500,000 in improvements to Regalia over the past year, including the addition of outdoor furniture, a sound system, lighting and planters in the outdoor courtyard and the repaving of the center’s parking lot.
The Regalia deals are two of many to be inked in recent weeks. Here are others announced by commercial realty firms:
Blue Haven Pool Builders Cordova Contractors of 1180 Big Orange Road in Cordova was recently purchased from Gary and Regina Bell. The 8,200-square-foot property’s new owners, John and Clarence Randolph, were represented by Cathy Anderson of Crye-Leike Commercial.
In addition, Medical Alternatives, the home infusion pharmacy affiliated with Baptist Memorial Health Care, leased 7,500 square feet at 6949 Appling Farms Parkway.
The industrial team of Andy Cates, Preston Thomas and Mike Driscoll of Colliers International represented the landlord, while Stan Myers with Belz Enterprises Inc. represented the tenant.
Urban Outfitters Inc. also signed a 11,490-square-foot lease last week with Charlie Ryan, president of Central Cooper Gateway Inc., the corporate entity that owns the building at 2151 Central Ave.
The Philadelphia-based retailer provides an eclectic and funky mix of home and clothing merchandise.
Gilluly & Associates is completing the building’s renovation.
Ryan, the landlord and owner of the property, said the merchandiser is a first-class company to work with.
“They are so good at everything they do,” Ryan said. “Their design team is unbelievable; these people are just great. It’s going to be a real ‘wow’ in that store.”
And the tenant actually came to Ryan with that specific locale in mind.
“They didn’t want to be anywhere else in the city; they wanted to be in Cooper-Young.”
