Oak Hall Dresses Up The Regalia in Fine Style

– Boyle Report –

The Regalia, Boyle’s fashionable East Memphis shopping center at Poplar and Ridgeway, has emerged as the prime location for prestigious, locally-owned shops following the recent addition of Oak Hall, a Mid-South clothing institution for than 136 years. "We’re tremendously excited to have Oak Hall as an anchor tenant at The Regalia," says Steve Bowie, vice president of retail development for Boyle. "We’ve seen The Regalia mature in to a healthy mix of food, fashion, and specialty services, and Oak Hall is the crowning touch."

This Memphis retailer of fine men and women’s clothing-whose visitors to the store have included Milton Berle, Danny Thomas, and even Buffalo Bill Cody-opened its new doors in February. Oak Hall’s store at The Regalia features approximately 19,000 square feet of space. The new store offers a women’s department and a men’s department that includes clothing, furnishings, and sportswear. An exclusive Hermes boutique featuring men’s neckwear, women’s scarves and other accessories is scheduled to open in the fall.

Founded in 1859, the store’s headquarters had been located at Perkins Extended and Poplar since 1970. "The Regalia’s location is now the center of our customer base." Says Bill Levy, president of Oak Hall. "The city’s population has continued to move eastward. In addition, The Regalia is surrounded by a concentrated business community which includes Ridgeway Center, Crescent Center, Union Planters Bank, Sedgwick Center, and International Paper."

The move to The Regalia comes after a great deal of research with Oak Hall’s customers. "We surveyed customers for quite some time about a possible move to The Regalia." Levy explains. "The response was overwhelming. Our customers simply love the idea." Levy cities increased convenience to customers’ homes and offices as the primary reason for the positive response, as well as the increased parking The Regalia offers.

Other fine shops at The Regalia include Only Kids, Elizabeth Edwards, Mimi Maternity, Cokesbury Books, Coradini Jewelers, Bayberry Co., Reverie Fine Linens & Down, Bell Gallery, Kannette’’, and A Fitting Place. Restaurants include Owen Brennan’s, Cooker Bar and Grill, Salsa Cocina, Mikasa Japan, and Nature’s Way Café.
