SpecialtyCare, Inc. to consolidate and expand headquarters in Maryland Farms; add 124 jobs

SpecialtyCare, Inc., a leading clinical services provider for hospitals and health systems, is moving its headquarters to a new, expanded location in Brentwood.

The 40,000 square-foot space within the Eastpark Office Park in Maryland Farms will allow the company to invest in more state-of-the-art clinical training facilities and lead to the creation of 124 new jobs.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and SpecialtyCare, Inc. made the announcement Thursday.

“There are more than 360,000 Tennesseans employed in the healthcare industry and it’s because of companies like SpecialtyCare that Tennessee will lead in job creation, as this industry continues to thrive in our state,” Haslam said. “We thank SpecialtyCare for its continued investment in Tennessee and for creating more than 100 new high-quality jobs in Williamson County.”

Rolfe highlighted the fact that over 15,500 jobs have been created in Tennessee’s healthcare industry since 2011 and lauded SpecialtyCare for adding to that growth.

“I want to thank SpecialtyCare for investing in our state and I look forward to seeing the company’s future growth in Tennessee,” Rolfe said.

Local leaders also had kind words for SpecialtyCare concerning its investment in Brentwood.

“The expansion of SpecialtyCare, Inc. is another example of companies growing and succeeding in Williamson County’s thriving economy,” Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson said.

“I want to congratulate SpecialtyCare for choosing to expand their presence in Brentwood,” Brentwood Mayor Jill Burgin said. “Our city recognizes the value of our corporate neighbors, and I know they will appreciate our prime location and responsive government.”

The Tennessee Valley Authority commented on the expansion as well.

“TVA and Nashville Electric Service congratulate SpecialtyCare on its decision to expand operations and create hundreds of new job opportunities in Williamson County,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “Attracting and retaining quality jobs is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service, and we are proud to partner with Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Williamson Inc., Williamson County and city of Brentwood to help further that mission.”

SpecialtyCare CEO Sam Weinstein talked about how the new headquarters would benefit the company and the people it serves.

“As a leading provider of outsourced clinical services across the United States, SpecialtyCare has enjoyed steady growth for over a decade,” Weinstein said. “This move allows us to further support that growth by bringing our administrative and training teams that support our clinicians under one roof in Eastpark.”

He also discussed the new amenities that the Eastpark space would offer SpecailtyCare.

“The larger, modernized space with its upgraded training facilities provides room to expand and gives us easy access to local resources,” Weinstein added.

New additions will include an expanded simulation operating room and classrooms with enhanced technology features, such as touchscreen smartboards and significantly broader and faster wireless capabilities.

Eastpark in Maryland Farms is owned in a partnership between Ayers Asset Management and Boyle Investment Company, which plans to transition Eastpark to a multi-tenant campus.

Renovations include adding glass to the building exteriors, substantial exterior hardscape and landscaping, and interior modernization of all the building systems and common areas.

“The ownership group is committed to returning Eastpark to a fully modernized Class A office park,” Executive Vice President of Ayers Asset Management Jon Ayers said. “We’re excited to welcome SpecialtyCare as the anchor tenant to kick off this redevelopment.”

Weinstein spoke highly of SpecialtyCare’s “longstanding relationship with Boyle” and also praised the efforts of other groups that have had a hand in the company’s success.

“Ayers Asset Management and Boyle have done a wonderful job renovating Eastpark Three for us,” he said. “We are grateful to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and TVA for supporting our efforts as an employer of choice. Eastpark will be a great new home that accommodates our needs today and as we continue to grow.”
