The Food Biz: Donelson lands mini-burger eatery

Burgerim, the Israeli-based hamburger business that is quickly expanding within Tennessee, is slated for Donelson.

The restaurant — the fast-casual franchise bills itself as offering “gourmet mini burgers” — will be located at 2260 Lebanon Pike in a building under construction. No opening date has been announced.

Memphis-based Boyle Investment Co. owns the property.

Metro Councilman Jeff Syracuse, in whose District 15 the Burgerim will operate, said the business “adds another great option” to Donelson’s growing restaurant roster.

“This will be a popular place and I thank Boyle for bringing it,” he said.

Most Burgerim restaurants in the United States are located in California, Texas or Florida. Tennessee offers the eateries in Bristol (soon to open), Memphis, Mount Juliet and Murfreesboro (soon to open).

Burgerim offers 2.8-ounce mini patties served in packs and including onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Diners have a choice of three buns, five sauces, 10 patties, and nine toppings.

In addition to Israel and the U.S., Bergerim is found in the United Kingdom, Spain, Romania and Russia.
