A $20 million building permit has been submitted for a Shady Grove site owned by Boyle Investment Company.

Located at 949 S. Shady Grove Road, the permit was for “excavation and earthwork for structural foundations.  Construction of building foundations.  Underground utilities inside perimeter of building.”

The permit was valued at a little more than $20.1 million, with Boyle listed as the tenant and owner, Linkous Construction Co., Inc. as the contractor and Hnedak Bobo Group as the architect.

According to the Boyle web site, approval was secured for a 155,000-square-foot office building at 949 S. Shady Grove, marking the last available Boyle site in the Ridgeway Center area.  Boyle began developing the area in the early 1970s, transforming the East Memphis commercial real estate market.

The web site calls for the construction of a six-story, leasable build-to-suite facility.

A Boyle representative was unable to be reached for comment to confirm whether or not a tenant had been secured.

In a Memphis Business Journal article from 2010, Mark Halperin, executive vice president with Boyle, said the 949  S. Shady Grove site would require an anchor tenant prior to construction.
