BankTennessee Opens In New Headquarters

The 15,000 square-foot new headquarters of BankTennessee, located on Poplar at Schilling Farms, is open to customers, even though the interior is not quite completed.

Wright Cox, vice president of the bank, said, "We want this building to feel like a home. We want a real homey feel, very traditional."

People who have done their banking at the bank’s office off of Byhalia Rd. will be happy to know that the popcorn popper is in a prominent place near the teller area downstairs. That’s a "serve yourself" treat.

Not yet moved into the place of honor is a beautiful Boston Grand piano, which will catch the eye of anybody entering. Cox said the grand opening of the bank won’t happen until the piano is delivered and in place.

There are five BankTennessee offices open now – the new building, the Byhalia office, the bank at Poplar and Yates in Memphis, the bank on Court in Memphis, and a bank in Ripley, Tenn.

Currently the BankTennessee Board of Directors includes Tom Brooks, Herman W. Cox, Jr., Wright Cox, Jack Everett, Randy Lankford, Jimmy Lott, Crawford McDonald, Joel Porter, Wayne Rodgers, Jim Rout, John Shepherd, Eugene Smith, and John S. Wilder, Sr.
