Boyle Develops Three New Office Buildings at Humphreys Center

The amount of office space has increased significantly at Humphreys
Center with the development three new office buildings.

Boyle has developed a new 200,000-square foot corporate headquarters facility for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation. The company’s 500 employees moved into the building this spring. Located on the north side of Walnut Grove, this build-to-suit office facility is conveniently located near Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis.

“We’re very excited about transitioning into our new corporate headquarters,” said David Hogan, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Baptist Memorial Health Care. “This building will maximize our operational efficiency by bringing together all of system leadership and shared services employees under one roof — many of whom now are working in different buildings and even on different campuses.”

A 50,000-square-foot “Class A” medical building at 100 N. Humphreys is home to The West Clinic, a group of 15 physicians and 150 employees specializing in medical oncology, gynecological oncology, hematology, endocrinology, and radiology. The site for the building is across the street from the regional headquarters facility
that Boyle developed for the U.S. Postal Service. The building is made of precast concrete, and amenities include nine-foot ceilings and column-free space.

“We are pleased to have Memphis’ premier group of oncologists, The West Clinic, as a primary tenant at 100 N. Humphreys,” said Mark Halperin, executive vice president of Boyle.

“Our new facility has enabled us to establish a ‘World Class’ center for the treatment of patients with cancer, blood diseases, and for treatments that require radiological care,” said Steve Coplon, chief executive officer for The West Clinic. “By fully integrating all of our patient and family services in a well-planned design, we have been able to provide them with an extraordinary level of medical and personal care. Our new setting also has helped facilitate the accrual of patients in research protocols along with a handful of nationally recognized cancer centers.

“The easy access to our facility for patients and their families gives us an extraordinary advantage over the traditional setting for specialty practices,” Coplon concluded.

Semmes Murphey Clinic, the largest neurosurgery and neurology group in Memphis,

is the anchor tenant at 6325 Humphreys Boulevard, a new 50,000-square-foot medical office building. The two-story “Class A” building is immediately adjacent to the building Boyle developed at 6305 Humphreys Boulevard. Constructed of pre-cast concrete and abundant glass, this state-of-the-art facility provides Semmes Murphey’s patients with a convenient location. The building is sited with convenient parking and attractive, lush landscaping. The lobby is handsomely appointed with specialty cherry paneling and custom Italian tile. There is some additional space in the building available for lease.

“The location of the new building at Humphreys Center is ideal because it’s in a triangle that includes Methodist Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis,” said Tim Roberts, administrator of Semmes Murphey. “The building is convenient for physicians, which results in better patient care.”

These three new office buildings are Boyle’s most recent additions to Humphreys Center, one of the most innovative development projects in the southeast. Consisting of more than 300 acres, Humphreys Center is the product of strict attention to detail and quality design.
