Capitol View Opens with New Tenants & Infrastructure

Together with long time partner, Northwestern Mutual, Boyle recently completed new infrastructure for Capitol View, the exciting 32-acre mixed-use project in the urban core of Nashville. When complete, the project will include offices, retail shops, restaurants, upscale multi-family residential units, hotels and a 2.5-acre urban activity park with a dog park, playground, yoga lawn and sand volleyball courts. Recently completed infrastructure work at Capitol View includes new streets, sidewalks and utilities — all designed to provide a pedestrian friendly, dense, urban gathering place.

Perhaps even more exciting for the project, though, are the two well-known companies which have established new corporate headquarters at Capitol View: HCA and LifeWay.

“We are fortunate to have two iconic Nashville corporations choose Capitol View for their long term business headquarters,” says Henry Lange, Regional Director for Northwestern Mutual Real Estate in Atlanta. “The 3,000 HCA and LifeWay employees will accelerate starting future phases of office, retail and apartments.”

After two years of construction, HCA opened the doors on October 1 to their new 500,000-square-foot state-of-the-art office building that is now home to HCA subsidiaries HealthTrust, Parallon and Sarah Cannon.  “As we began our search for office space, we were drawn to the Capitol View site because of the location,” said Nick Paul, Vice President of Real Estate for HCA Healthcare. “After conversations with Boyle and Northwestern Mutual, we knew we had found the right site and the right development partners because we share a common vision for Capitol View – a vibrant community that will mix business and residential development while also helping revitalize the North Gulch. We are excited about building upon our 48-year history in Nashville through the opening of the HCA tower and the completion of Capitol View.”

And in the spring of 2016, LifeWay purchased an entire block at Capitol View and tapped Boyle to develop a new 250,000 square foot headquarters. Construction is well underway with a projected opening of November 2017.

“I had certain high expectations when we entered into a partnership with Boyle to build our new headquarters,” shares Dr. Thom Rainer, CEO of LifeWay. “We are well into the project, and I can say unequivocally every expectation has been exceeded.”

With HCA complete and LifeWay under construction, Boyle has begun work on the next phases at Capitol View , including a new mixed-use building with retail, loft-style office space and 378 multi-family units, and a second building with restaurants, specialty retail and 300,000 square feet of Class A office.
