Kiplinger.com has named Nashville as one of 11 comeback cities in the U.S. for 2011. Kiplinger looked at cities whose unemployment rates have recently exceeded the national average, but are showing strong signs of rebounding.
For Nashville, Kiplinger forecasts job growth at 2.8 percent, with particular growth in financial and accounting services.
The report, which does not rank the 11 cities individually, also cites Chattanooga, which stands to receive a major boost from Volkswagen’s new production facility there. Other metro rounding out Kiplinger’s list of comeback cities are: Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, NC, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland, OR, Seattle, San Jose, CA.
